You will read a historical fiction picture book with a partner(s) and then create an original colorful museum exhibit/display about your book showing what is made up and what is historical fact. You may design the museum display any way you wish but it must include a written informative piece including all the elements listed in the document below. You will also use this information to create a virtual/electronic version of your museum display to share with students in another elementary school in our school district. They will share their comments with you via electronic conferencing or blogging.

Presenting Your Information
Your group will need to decide how to present your information to the class reflecting how your historical fiction book incorporates both historical fiction literary elements and actual historic fact. Please remember all projects must include an informative/explanatory written piece including all the information as outlined in the contract. You also must include primary sources, map and a group created artifact to represent both the book and the historic event/period.
The format you use to present your information is up to your group.
1. You must first create an exhibit using your artifact, books, written piece, primary sources, map, etc. which will be displayed on top of a library shelf.
2. You will then create a way of showing your exhibit electronically. Some suggestions for your electronic piece:

- pretend you are curators at a museum and talk about your exhibit

To find illustrations from your book, click on the link below. To save the illustration as a picture you must:
You must find illustrations from the story to represent each of the following: setting, cover, plot, main character, another character (you selected to tell the story from another point of view), theme.
You must find photos, illustrations to represent each of the following:
If your group has been assigned to do extended research
- press ctrl and print screen together
- open PowerPoint and open a new document
- click on the first slide
- Right click-- paste
- Right click on picture. Click on "format" under Picture tools. Click on crop.
- Crop the picture (move the bars on the picture until all unwanted detail is eliminated).
- Right click on the picture and click "save picture as"
- Open a new file under photos and save it to the file.
